Associates, Licentiates, Fellows and Advanced Diplomats receive authorisation as members of the School to purchase distinctive academic dress from the official robemaker. These may be ordered from Central Office. There is no academic dress specifically for holders of dipNMSM.
NMSM hoods are of the Cambridge and Aberdeen styles, in black cloth with scarlet silk linings and a variety of edgings in imitation fur, plain and watered silk.

All levels Black polyester Panama. London Bachelors style but with red cord and button at the sleeves.
As members progress through the various diplomas it may well be that diploma hoods become surplus to requirements. Members wishing to buy or sell second hand hoods may do so by contacting Central Office.
